Deep, opaque ruby in color, the wine opens with vibrant aromas of strawberry jam and fresh cranberry, complemented by leather and mixed Italian herbs.

On the palate, the wine reveals soft, velvety tannins that provide a refined mouthfeel, while maintaining a well-balanced structure.

The Vine 1 is a blend of 94% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 2% Cabernet Franc, and 1% Petit Verdot, aged for 20 months in 47% new French oak. This flagship wine of the Materra estate is a standout, and bottle number 3,254 of 3,500 sampled was firing on all cylinders. Black-fruited and highly expressive, it is imbued with beautifully lacy, crushed-stone minerality, layered with cherry cola, pomegranate, and blood orange fruit. Superfine tannins provide a solid foundation, supporting the juicy fruit, mineral depth, and sweet spice intensity that define its polished and captivating profile. An extraordinary expression of the estate's craftsmanship.
