2018 Materra Yoshino Rose
Our new Yoshino Rosé is named for a mountainside in Nara, Japan famous for its 30,000 flowering cherry trees that blossom every spring. When we were making our first rosé the brilliant pink hue immediately called those cherry blossoms to mind.
We made this from our estate grown Syrah, a tiny block we planted with rosé in mind. On the nose, a fresh strawberry scent is immediately apparent, further developed by the pleasant aromas of hibiscus and plum.
This rosé is well structured, with mouthwatering acidity and wet stone minerality framing the blackberry sorbet and red apple flavors. Put simply, Materra’s 2018 Yoshino Rosé, is a bright and beautiful addition to our already stellar lineup.
